Dr. Shahid Qureshi is a distinguished leader in entrepreneurship and management, known for his impactful work in Pakistan’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. With over a decade of collaboration, I, Dr. Saadat Saeed, Associate Professor at Durham University Business School, have witnessed his exceptional dedication to fostering innovation and job creation. His Entrepreneurship Plus Model, recognized globally and awarded by USASBE in 2017, highlights his contributions. Dr. Qureshi’s work extends to empowering disadvantaged communities, including women and refugees, and he is highly regarded for his international engagements and academic excellence.

I have known Dr. Shahid Qureshi for over a decade. As Program Director at IBA Centre for Entrepreneurial Development and Board Member at IGNITE Entrepreneurship Academy, Dr. Qureshi has consistently demonstrated his expertise and commitment to entrepreneurship. During his PhD at Technische Universität Berlin, where I was his co-supervisor, we collaborated on several papers and research projects. Dr. Qureshi regularly lectures at Technische Universität Berlin and supports PhD candidates in their research. Despite the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic, he continues to organize global lectures and workshops, highlighting his resilience and dedication. His international perspective and effective management of the entrepreneurship centre in Pakistan underscore his position as a leading scholar in the field.

As a Professor of Marketing at the Technical University of Berlin, I have known Dr. Shahid Qureshi for over ten years. His dedication to promoting entrepreneurship, particularly in developing world contexts with a focus on poverty alleviation, is truly commendable. Dr. Qureshi’s efforts have consistently been recognized, including his team’s achievement of the Outstanding Specialty Program Award in Entrepreneurship from USASBE in 2017. His engaging and participant-centered teaching style has made a significant impact at TU Berlin since 2007.

I have known Dr. Shahid Qureshi for over fifteen years, first as a student in our MBA program at LUMS and later as part of the business academic community in Pakistan that is committed to the promotion and development of entrepreneurship in the country. The devotion and commitment with which Dr. Qureshi has worked to train not only students and potential entrepreneurs but also faculty is indeed remarkable. His role in helping individuals of all backgrounds gain the motivation, inspiration, and skills to start their own businesses has been truly phenomenal.

As a guest speaker in his programs, I have observed firsthand how he passionately engages with participants and uses easily relatable examples and tools to impart not only the true spirit of enterprise but also to develop core business skills. As an academic who has spent over three decades in researching and teaching technology, innovation, and entrepreneurship to MBA students, besides mentoring numerous entrepreneurs in Pakistan, I can say without hesitation that Dr. Shahid Qureshi has created the most significant impact on the entrepreneurship education scene across Pakistan in the last ten years. People from all over the country and from almost the entire socio-economic and educational spectrum have benefited from Dr. Qureshi’s efforts.

In my humble experience, Dr. Shahid Qureshi has accomplished what is hard to achieve even in the best of circumstances. He played a leading role in the foundation of an entrepreneurial university in Pakistan, GIFT University, located in Gujranwala, Pakistan. He was the co-founder of the IBA CED, the largest and first entrepreneurial center with an incubator in Pakistan. In addition, he has published numerous training manuals to help entrepreneurs in Pakistan and has trained corporate entrepreneurs across the country. He has also contributed significantly to establishing an entrepreneurship center in Srilanka.

I am well-acquainted with his efforts around women entrepreneurs and home-based entrepreneurs. Dr. Qureshi provides the heart and soul of hope in Pakistan to those working to start and grow a business in a low-income country. He has managed to lift many out of poverty through his efforts and positive outlook. His contributions extend to advising the Prime Minister of Pakistan on a taskforce focused on entrepreneurship.

In conclusion, while he has focused on the practice of entrepreneurship and trained hundreds, he has also made substantial contributions to academic knowledge with 30 academic publications and numerous case studies to promote the learning of entrepreneurship. I wholeheartedly support Dr. Qureshi and his impactful work.

I have known and worked with Dr. Shahid Qureshi for the past six years and have witnessed his exceptional leadership at IBA CED, Pakistan’s largest and first entrepreneurial center with an incubator. Dr. Qureshi has played a crucial role in fostering the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Pakistan by helping over 50 universities develop their entrepreneurship faculties, advising the Prime Minister’s task force on youth, and supporting the establishment of an entrepreneurship center in Sri Lanka. He has taught numerous courses on entrepreneurship both in Pakistan and internationally, and authored over 100 case studies, research papers, and articles.

Dr. Qureshi’s efforts have also established an incubation hub at CED, supporting numerous startups and young entrepreneurs.

Dr. Shahid Qureshi is a leading expert in entrepreneurship in Pakistan, known for his innovative contributions to both academia and practical applications in entrepreneurship development.
